Xbox Live is Down but Microsoft is Working on a it

Servers going down is nothing new for the gaming community, sometimes it is the game servers that are stopping you from getting it on with your new favorite title and sometimes it is the services of your platform.


Today it is the Xbox fans that are having a rough day thanks to Xbox Live being down for the most part.

Only two hours ago, the Social & Gaming (Xbox 360) as well as Xbox Live Core Services (Xbox One, Xbox 360) were down alongside some of the apps. The good news is that Xbox Live Core Services have been put back on by Microsoft meaning they are well an running as they should be.

However, the Social & Gaming services as well as Slacker Radio and the Xbox Fitness Apps are still down.

You can check out the status of each on by visiting the Service Status Page – but I guess you already knew that.

It didn’t take too long for Microsoft to put the Xbox Live Core Services back on – considering that they are the essence of the service; so I am hopeful that the other features will also be up and running in no time.

Until then, the downtime has resulted in disruption in “joining other Xbox Live members in online games.”

In general, Microsoft has left this message for all the users who are currently affected by the issues:

 "We’re aware of the issue and working to get it fixed ASAP! Thanks for your patience while we work out the kinks. We’ll post an update as soon as we know more."
