NEW DELHI: Chinese brand Oppo launched Neo 5 budget smartphone, which was announced globally in August 2014, in the Indian market at Rs 9,990.The dual-sim Oppo smartphone sports a 4.5-inch (480x854p) IPS LCD display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It is powered by 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and comes with 8GB internal storage and optional external storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
Oppo Neo 5 packs a 2,000mAh battery and comes with a power-saving mode to make the battery last longer. The smartphone is equipped with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, Oppo Neo 5 has options of 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS.
Tom Lu, CEO, Oppo Mobiles India, said, “Oppo Neo 5 (2015) will target consumers who expect superior specifications at decent pricing. Our target is to reach out and cater to each segment in the market.”
At Rs 9,990, this smartphone will compete against Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Lenovo A7000 and Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G.
